Sea Eagles extend Anthony Seibold’s contract until 2027

The Manly Sea Eagles have confirmed head coach Anthony Seibold will remain at the helm for two more seasons, extending his contract until the end of 2027.

Seibold, who took over in late 2022, led the Sea Eagles back to the finals for the first time since 2021 and is confident about building on the team’s progress.

“All our planning is around how to complete that mission,” Seibold said.

“We made some giant strides last season. Out of all the other seven teams in the top eight, we beat six of those seven, which was equal to anybody in the competition.

“So what we’ve shown is that we can beat any team in the competition on our day, but for us to go to the next level, it’s about reliability and repeatability.”

Reflecting on his coaching journey, Seibold added:
“I went to a different code, a different nation. I worked really hard there. Most people in the NRL never thought they would hear of me again or see me coaching a team again.

“But it’s never been about proving people wrong. It’s been about proving people right. I have been given some really great opportunities and I am very grateful. Manly made a really big call two years ago to give me the head coaching role, and I feel like I’ve repaid that.”

Manly Chief Executive Tony Mestrov praised Seibold’s impact on the team and club culture.
“Under Anthony, we made the finals for the first time since 2021. We can build on this, and Anthony is the right person for us to do that.

“The hard work Anthony has done with the players and the staff, from both a playing perspective to the strong culture he has established here over the past two years, has been outstanding,” Mestrov said.

“He has really driven the ‘Manly Way’, which has become really powerful, and you can see the excitement and passion within our community again.”

With Seibold’s leadership secured, the Sea Eagles will aim to maintain their momentum and establish themselves as premiership contenders in the coming seasons.
