Indian cricket fans celebrated for bringing the passion

The Indian cricket team is touring Australia this summer, bringing their electrifying fanbase along for the ride. The series has already featured thrilling Test matches, with Indian supporters turning up in droves to create an unmatched atmosphere. Day one of the iconic Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has officially sold out, highlighting the incredible enthusiasm of Indian cricket fans.

Matt Worland, host of the bet365 The Warm Up with Worlo and Moons, celebrated the influence of Indian fans during the show’s Marketplace segment.

“I’m buying Indian cricket fans now,” Worland said. “There are nearly a million Indians in Australia, and their numbers have doubled since 2011. They create a summer of cricket like no other. Without them, we wouldn’t have the crowds or atmosphere we’re seeing.”

Co-host Cam Mooney agreed, adding, “They bring passion like no other. Other than the Barmy Army, I reckon they’re the best.”

Indian cricket fans have become an integral part of Australia’s cricket culture, infusing matches with energy and excitement both on and off the field.

Worland also shared his anticipation for future fixtures, including the potential of a Pakistan-India Test at the MCG. “When we don’t have England or India in a Test series, it’s pretty flat. Imagine a Pakistan-India Test at the MCG—it would be amazing!”

As the highly anticipated Boxing Day Test approaches, Indian cricket fans continue to play a vital role in the sport’s success Down Under.
