Laurie Daley returns as NSW Blues coach

Rugby league legend Laurie Daley is set to return as head coach of the NSW Blues after being appointed to replace Michael Maguire. This marks Daley’s second tenure leading the Blues, having previously coached the team from 2013 to 2017.

Daley brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the State of Origin arena. During his earlier stint as coach, he guided NSW to a historic series victory in 2014, breaking Queensland’s eight-year winning streak.

NSW Rugby League CEO David Trodden praised Daley’s appointment, highlighting his leadership and passion for the Blues.

“Laurie has always embodied what it means to represent the Blues. His experience, knowledge, and understanding of Origin football make him the perfect choice to lead the team forward,” Trodden said.

Daley expressed his excitement about returning to the role and leading the Blues once again.

“It’s an honour to coach the Blues and represent the people of New South Wales. I’m looking forward to the challenge and working with the team to bring success to our state,” Daley said.

The NSW Blues will be looking to bounce back and reclaim the State of Origin shield in the upcoming series under Daley’s guidance. With his proven track record and strong leadership, fans have every reason to be optimistic about the team’s prospects.
