The Brisbane Lions have secured premiership coach Chris Fagan for the long term, extending his contract for an additional two years. The extension ensures Fagan will remain at Brighton Homes Arena until at least the end of 2027.

Fagan joined the Lions in 2017 when the club sat at the bottom of the ladder. Now entering his ninth season, he has transformed the team into reigning premiers, with six consecutive finals appearances and a Grand Final berth last year.

Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann praised Fagan’s impact on and off the field.
“Extending Chris’ contract was an easy decision because he has shown since we first appointed him that he was a special coach,” Swann said.
“He has taken this club from bottom of the ladder to a premiership, and we look forward to more success under his leadership.”

Fagan expressed his gratitude for the club’s continued support and the opportunity to keep striving for excellence.
“I’m grateful that the club wants me to continue as coach for a few more years,” Fagan said.
“The playing group is full of character and talent, and it has been a real privilege to coach them.”

The Lions are aiming to build on their premiership success with a focus on back-to-back flags and long-term success. With Fagan at the helm, the club is confident in its culture of improvement and high performance.

Fans can watch Fagan discuss his extension and share a preseason update on the Lions’ official channels.
