Gather Round ticket sales break records

The AFL has announced a staggering milestone for the 2024 Gather Round…Festival of Footy, with over 195,000 tickets sold across the nine matches. This figure exceeds last year’s sales by 20,000, with five games already sold out.

Demand surged during the member on-sale event on Tuesday, with more than 100,000 tickets snapped up within four hours, compared to the same amount sold in 24 hours last year. The increase is partly attributed to the additional 47,000 tickets made available this year, with two Saturday matches being ticketed separately.

Tickets remain available for Collingwood vs Sydney Swans on Friday night, Carlton vs West Coast on Saturday afternoon, Melbourne vs Essendon on Saturday night, and restricted-view and Pepsi Collective tickets for Port Adelaide vs Hawthorn on Sunday evening.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon highlighted the growing popularity of the Gather Round.

“The demand for tickets this year was significantly higher than the first two Gather Rounds, with more than 195,000 tickets being purchased in the first two days,” Dillon said.

“A ticket to the matches at the Barossa Park was always going to be one of the hottest tickets in town, and fans have certainly illustrated that by selling out both matches so quickly.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas also praised the event’s success.

“Gather Round continues to exceed all expectations,” Malinauskas said. “We are honoured that so many footy fans from around the country are making the commitment to travel to our beautiful state to experience this event like no other.”

Fans are urged to secure tickets quickly for the remaining matches.
