Moloney commits to Geelong until 2027

Geelong forward Aishling Moloney has signed a three-year contract extension, ensuring the Irish star remains in the Hoops until at least the end of 2027.

The 25-year-old has become one of the AFLW’s premier forwards, sharing the 2024 leading goalkicker award with Brisbane’s Taylor Smith after a record-breaking 21-goal home-and-away season.

Moloney’s standout year included 14.2 disposals and five score involvements per game, securing her a runner-up finish in Geelong’s Best and Fairest. On Monday, her season was further honoured with All-Australian selection at centre half-forward.

Geelong Assistant General Manager of Football, Brett Johnson, praised Moloney’s rapid rise.

“She’s been a game-changer since joining the Cats,” Johnson said. “From debuting just over a year ago to being named All-Australian and leading the league in goals, her development has been remarkable.”

“We’re thrilled to have Aishling as a key part of our future. Her talent and work ethic make her integral to our forward structure, and we’re excited to see her reach even greater heights with the Cats.”

Moloney’s extension solidifies her as a cornerstone of Geelong’s long-term success, with fans eager to watch her continued dominance.
