Nina Morrison crowned Geelong Cats’ best and fairest

Nina Morrison has capped off a stellar 2024 AFLW season by winning the Geelong Cats Best and Fairest award.

The 23-year-old midfielder excelled across all 11 games, averaging 20.8 disposals and 7.1 tackles while kicking five goals. Her consistency saw her poll 138 votes to claim the honour, ahead of Irish forward Aishling Moloney (98 votes) and Georgie Prespakis (74 votes).

“I’m incredibly proud to win this award,” Morrison said.
“This club means so much to me, and I’m grateful for my teammates and coaches.”

Aishling Moloney shone with 21 goals, earning her a share of the AFLW leading goalkicker award and selection in the All-Australian squad of 42. Georgie Prespakis continued her dominance with 20.2 disposals and 5.7 tackles per game, securing her fourth consecutive AFLPA 22Under22 selection.

Kate Darby was recognised as the Carter Family Community Champion for a record fourth time, while Mikayla Bowen received the Hoops Award for the second time.
