Tasmania JackJumpers rally for fourth annual Teal Round

The Tasmania JackJumpers are gearing up for the fourth annual Teal Round, a community-driven event supporting local charity partner S.H.E (Support, Hope, Education). Taking place on Saturday, 8th February 2025, at 5:30 pm at MyState Bank Arena, the JackJumpers will face the Cairns Taipans in a game that’s about more than just basketball.

The Teal Round raises critical funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers, supporting S.H.E’s mission to build a world-class Cancer Wellness Centre in Tasmania. This centre will provide essential emotional and practical care for cancer patients and their families, while S.H.E continues to advocate for gynaecological cancer research.

Ovarian cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with survival rates unchanged since 1979. Inspired by the late Jo Harris, S.H.E’s vision for the Cancer Wellness Centre has already secured $10 million from the Tasmanian Government, but an additional $10 million is needed. To date, the Tasmanian community has raised $600,000, and proceeds from this year’s Teal Round will contribute directly to this goal.

Since the initiative began in 2022, the JackJumpers have raised over $150,000 for S.H.E, with fans and community members showing unwavering support. This year’s Teal Round includes several ways for fans to contribute:

  • Game-Worn Jerseys Auction: Signed teal jerseys and shooting shirts will be auctioned online from 3rd–9th February.
  • Replica Jerseys: Fans can purchase teal jerseys online or at MyState Bank Arena, with proceeds supporting S.H.E.
  • Virtual Seats: Sold-out game? Fans can buy virtual seats starting 3rd February, with all funds going to S.H.E.
  • Donation Stations: At MyState Bank Arena, donations over $30 will be rewarded with a limited-edition teal cap.
  • Rally Towels: Chemist Warehouse and S.H.E will provide teal rally towels to attendees.

Chemist Warehouse is also raising funds in 18 Tasmanian stores, with 100% of in-store donations going to S.H.E.

“This is more than a game—it’s a testament to the strength and compassion of Tasmanians,” said S.H.E Chair Scott Harris.
